Battle of the Books season is here!

 Grade-level Battle of the Books tournaments were held this week. So much excitement! So much book knowledge on display! The winners move on to the School Championship on 2/24. The remaining teams have one more chance in the Wildcard round on Thursday. 

Congratulations to all participants on a fine showing!

Stories in Action Date Change!

The date for Stories in Action has changed from 2/28 to Thursday, February 27 from 3:30-5:30.

The Unforgettable Shawn Peters!

 

On Friday we welcomed author Shawn Peters to Bement. The Unforgettable Loagan Foster has been one of the most popular MCBA books so far this year.  Mr. Peters was informative, engaging, and entertaining as he shared his story and read from the book. Following his presentation to grades 4-6 and a book signing, he had lunch with a lucky group of students.  It was a wonderful visit!

Our first student Varsity Reader!

 Congratulations to 6th grader Ben who became our first student Varsity Reader by completing 20 MCBA nominees. 

He joins Ms. Gearhart (always our first Varsity Reader- she is amazing!) on the star board.

Kick-off Rally!

 On Wednesday morning, the entire fourth, fifth, and sixth grade along with their teachers met in the Grace Bement Reading Room to officially launch this year's MCBA program @ Bement.
