The fourth grade visited the library to share the books they have read so far. After we record their books in the red binder, they get to add a star to the class chart. Many got a great start over the summer! It will be fun to watch their reading grow.
This morning we kicked off the 2022 MCBA reading season with a rally in the TCY meeting room.
There is a lot of excitement for this year's nominees---I hope you will be part of it!

This is a wonderfully diverse list and I can't wait to get reading!This morning, the fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade champion Battle of the Books teams competed for the school title. It was a close competition! In the end, the fourth-grade team edged out grade five 24-23, with sixth grade coming in third. Congratulations to all of our teams and thank you for another great year of reading and battling!
Our student champions will play the teacher champions on Thursday for a fun finale to our BOTB season.

On Wednesday, fifth graders battled for the chance to compete in the school tournament. The team of Alice, Eamon, JJ, and William defeated Ashton, Dachi, Gabe, Joey, Jude by a score of 23-18.

Today's Battle of the Books contest featured the fourth grade.
In a tight battle, Meghan, Liva, and Lloyd defeated Lilly, Christian, Ryan, and Isaac. They will move on to the school tournament on Tuesday, March 2. Great job readers!
This year's pandemic version of BOTB is modified a bit, but readers have still had a chance to show off their knowledge of this year's nominees.
On Wednesday, the teacher teams faced off in a close contest. The team of Ms. Wisniewski, Ms. Gearhart, and Mrs. Currie edged out Ms.Robertson, Ms. Wetherby, and Ms. Maccallum 24-23.
