A Three-Peat Victory

Wowza! It could not have been more exciting! This year's Battle of the Books Championship pitted five very well prepared teams of readers against each other for 25 minutes of nail-biting action.
And our winner was....The Red Team. Will, Aaron, Ryan, and Nate won the medal for the third year in a row. What fun! Congratulation to each and every participant. I am so proud of you all!

Battle of the Books

It was an exciting season of Battle of the Books. The class level tournaments were all close, we added a wild card, and our teachers joined in for the school tournament.

Battle of the Books begins

We have nine student teams signed up for the Battle of the Books and one teacher team! The action begins on Tuesday at recess, and progresses to the school championship on February 28.

Author Skype

We had a fun afternoon talking with author Tamra Wight about her story Mystery on Pine Lake. Ms. Wight told us about her life as a writer, "nature geek", teaching assistant and campground owner. She shared pictures of the wildlife that inspired the books and answered lots of questions. She was a warm, friendly presenter. It was a terrific visit!

Our first varsity reader!
